Prosperous Economic Development to strengthen the whole Region!

Already now, even before fully established, the “Koralmbahn” (Koralm-Railway) began shaping not only the landscape but the whole region of South-West Styria. Through the Baltic-Adriatic corridor, South-West Styria will be connected to major economic zones on both sides.

To ensure the use of the economic potential and sustainability, in the interest of the whole region, five partners came together and founded the “Laßnitztal Entwicklungs GmbH” (Laßnitztal Development Agency LLC).

The main objective is to use the positive economic impact of the newly built railway and thus use this potential to develop the whole region of South-West Styria and southern Austria further.

Directly next to the site of the brand-new railway station,
10 hectares of high-quality industrial estates are being developed. Besides the international railway connection, these sites are very well linked to other means of transportation, too. The A9-motorway, which is a significant north-south connection between Graz and Maribor, can be reached within 15 minutes.

Moreover, the airport of Graz-Thalerhof can also be reached shortly by train or car, too.

In addition to the availability of this high-quality infrastructure, the site is also characterised by the socio-economic structure of South-West Styria itself. About 50% of all employees in the region are already working the industrial or the producing sectors. Furthermore, the educational institutions around are well known for their high standards in the fields of mechatronics and electrical engineering. Last but least there is also a great emphasis on practical teaching and labour market orientated education.
