SMB Industrieanlagenbau GmbH was founded in 1968 and has its headquarters in Hart bei Graz. Together with its subsidiaries, it focuses expertise on the successful completion of projects in the automotive industry, oil and gas industry, chemical and construction materials industry, iron and steel industry, paper and pulp industry, food and drink industry, and semi-conductor and pharmaceutical industries.
SMB currently employs around 450 employees at its headquarters in Hart bei Graz as well as in its subsidiaries: SMB Pharmaservice GmbH in Wolfsberg (AUT), SMB Houdek GmbH in Wertach (DEU), SMB Construction Services s.r.o. in Košice (SVK), SMB Manufacturing Services s.r.o. in Martin (SVK) and SMB Pure Systems in Budapest (HUN).
Branch locations providing direct support for key customers have been set up in Austria in Vienna, Kundl, Schaftenau, Lannach and Steyr, and in Germany in Penzberg.
All SMB Group companies have quality certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, safety certification in accordance with SCC**/SCCP:2011, environmental management certification in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 and welding procedure certification in accordance with EN ISO 15614-1, AD2000 HP2/1 and EN3834-2.
The company is certified to manufacture steel supporting structures in accordance with EN 1090 EXC3.

Energy technology
The range of services in the energy technology sector begins with assistance for basic engineering and continues with detailed planning, manufacture, delivery and of course assembly and initial operations.
One of the SMB Group’s major services is provision of energy generation plants as well as energy distribution for cooling plants, heating systems and power plants.

Pipeline construction
SMB constructs pipeline systems, based on individual requirements, in a variety of materials and qualities, such as steel alloys, C-steels, plastics and specialized materials, and combines them with suitable connection technology such as orbital or manual welding, bonding, screws, pressers and clamps.

Steel works manufacture and assembly
The company focuses on steel manufacture with low degrees of automation and specialised construction.
The new steel works in Martin, Slovakia, deals mainly with prefabrication of piping spools and modular construction (skids).

Machine assembly and relocating operations
SMB is a single source provider for internal and external relocation of operations for entire production systems and individual components in all industries, with services from logistics planning right through to production monitoring. The conscientious stocktaking, professional measurement of all components during disassembly and reassembly and careful handling during the entire relocation process mean that SMB can guarantee the best possible production reliability after restarting operations.
